Passport and visa requirements can change at short notice. You are advised to check with your embassy or consulate in Ghana or the Ghanaian embassy in your home country to see what documents you will need to be able to travel into Ghana.

Health Requirements
It is mandatory for visitors to Ghana to have a health certificate stating that they have a valid yellow fever vaccination.

Prophylactics against malaria are recommended, but are also readily available in Ghana. Ask your doctor for advice. See the CEO's interview about malaria prophylactics. Also bring enough insect repellent to prevent being bitten between sunset and sunrise.

Also be wary to go swimming. Ask the local population if the water is infested with Bilharzia. Bilharzia is easy treated, but a nuisance which can best be avoided.

As situations may change always consult your doctor or specialist at least 6 weeks in advance about your travel destination. It is advised to drink bottled water or boiled purified water.

Good hospitals and clinics are found in the cities and major towns, but facilities outside urban areas could be poor and emergency services are limited. Medical insurance is advised and should cover medical evacuation.
