Akosombo is situated near the Volta Dam at Lake Volta. Lake Volta is a 400 km long lake which is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. It covers an area of about 8500 km. The lake was created as a result of the need to construct a hydro-electric dam which was built in the 1960's.

After breakfast at your hotel we will depart for Akosombo.

We will have a look at the hydro electric Dam.

There is a three hour afternoon cruise on the Volta Lake with a lot of music and dancing to Dodi Island.
